Are payment processing fees in addition to my base commission rate?
Yes. Your base commission fees and payment processing fees are separate. Payment processing is processed directly on Stripe, with a 2.9% +$0.35 per transaction fee.
How does Quartermaster plan to reduce commission for professionals?
We will be crafting how this works over 2024 and will be looking to loop in a number of Pros to help shape how it looks. We believe if Pros are consistently doing great work and are nurturing relationships with with clients their effective commission rates should continue to reduce. Overall we believe this creates more market efficiencies and value for Homeowners and Pros.
Where can I find the Qm commission for each job?
You can find the commission for each job in the project details before and during the completion. You will also see it in your financial tab once the payment is completed.
The Handshake Commitment
I’ve invite clients in the past, are they eligible for the Handshake Agreement?
Absolutely! The point of the Handshake Agreement is to help you leverage your existing relationships and ensure we’re not charging you for booking based on that existing trust. As long as you invited them after January 1, 2022 and were the first to invite them to Quartermaster you’ll have the Handshake Agreement with them and work commission-free* for life with them.
I’ve been referred by clients in the past to Quartermaster, are they eligible for the Handshake Agreement?
Absolutely! As long as the referral was submitted to a Quartermaster rep after January 1, 2022 you’ll have the Handshake Agreement with them and work commission-free* for life with them.

How do I know if a given client is eligible for the Handshake Agreement?
To know if a project or customers is eligible, look for the handshake agreement icon.
